The Details

Sam is a fashion model based in Metro Manila. I like the way she projects the pose which is really suitable for fashion photography.

Gears

I have used the following to achieve these shots:

• Nikon D750, a very capable full-frame camera that I use in wedding events due to it’s superb low-light performance
• 80-200 f/2.8 lens, a top pro zoom in its time but still provides very sharp results and great image quality

Lighting

My style depends on the concept or story that I want to convey. I chose available light in this setup in order to save time and not to annoy the model.

Posing

Posing is very crucial so I ask my subjects to relax. I talk to them first, get to know them and try to win them. Once they are comfortable then the job becomes easier. This is very crucial in women portraits as you want to make them look flattering in the final output.

I never had hard time with Sam as she already knows how to project in front of the camera and convey a strong fashion statement.

Post-production

I post-process my images depending on the theme that I’m shooting. For this concept, I used bright tones in order to make everything look natural.
